It appears that the Sunday Mail, have thrown off the last vestiges of objective journalism and dropped their sole Independence supporting columnist Elaine C Smith.
According to the Scottish Independence Convention Ms Smith, the convenor, has discovered that her pro-independence opinions are no longer welcome. The last column she submitted, supporting Justice Secretary Kenny MacAskill's decision to release El-Megrahi on compassionate grounds was pulled at the very last minute.
Bruce Waddell.
If you feel that the grand poobah, Bruce Waddell, the editor in chief has erred in this decision, by all means demonstrate your ire by writing to mailbox@sundaymail.co.uk or for the more voluble please call 0141 309 3000.

Jings, it would appear that Hardeep Singh Kholi has decided he can't stomach writing for Scotland on Sunday and has walked away.
Can a nation survive a foreign and hostile media?
I expect that in the run up to the election other editors will be taking a look at their columnists and deciding whether they represent good value....
Elaine is too good a columnist to lose though. Perhaps she will be offered a column elsewhere, and take a few readers with her.
Chapeau haut to Hardeep!
I take back what I said about Hardeep on Subrosa's blog.

This is a disgrace, the media are really terrified of the SNP and are trying to do everything possible to stop them.
People will only tolerate Labours spin and people in the media for so long then something will snap.
As my father said regarding Wendy Alexander and that awful woman Helen liddell and now Iain Gray, " All are playing a very dangerous game and something will snap sooner or later"
Solway Gold from Sulwath. Yummy.
