Catalunya shows Scotland how to grow a pair.

Catalunya show us how to do it again. Are we too timid to express ourselves in this way? Would BBC Reporting Scotland cover this if it happened in George Square?

I think we all know that if that happened in George Square or anywhere else in Scotland, BBC Scotland would run with some trivial story about badgers, or maybe they would give publicity to some Scotsman poll, fiddled like the recent one about the timing of the referendum, which purported to show that 98.7% of Scots wanted the Scottish Parliament abolished.

Now that is a Flashmob

There is somewhere a video of a lipsync through the streets of n
Barcelona imvolving thousands.

Well worth the watch, if you can find it.

Was this actually shown on Spanish television? Not to my knowledge (I'm in Spain at present, by the way). of course it may have been shown on Catalonian regional TV. It has been viewed so far by about [only] 25.5k on YouTube.

More to the point, could you get enough Scots together to do this in George Square or St Andrew's Square? Why don't you organise it and see what happens?

If such an event was to be covered in BBC Scotland (or ITV), or indeed by Sky or the other channels throughout the UK, then I'm sure it would be reported accurately and factually as a perfectly legitimate demonstration by a very small cohort of Scots - a cultural curiosity, no more, no less. The pretence to victim-hood implicit in your article displays clearly just how wrong-headed the whole separatist (aka 'independence') agenda is.

Let's face it, if at the next General Election there are 30 MP's elected then your argument will be won. When that happens come back and talk some more ;)

Odd that you mention 'regional' Catalan TV, Bill. Having been surprised to discover Catalan tv on Sardinia on holiday a few years ago, I was aware that they had a few regional and local tv channels. A quick google later takes me to a wiki page listing something like 80 tv channels available in Catalan.

Pretty amazing when one considers the limited choice we have that emanates from Scotland. Particularly the poor cringe laden reportage that passes itself off as 'news' from Reporting Scotland. You'll forgive me for not believing BBC Scotland are capable of anything regarding Independence accurately or factual.

As to organising 8000 Independence supporters to participate in a flash mob outside Glasgow City Council, well I imagine that would be quite a task, although I'll be happy to join the thousands participating in the March for Independence in Edinburgh this September.

As to your provocative comment about victim hood and 'separation'. I tend to think there's a lot wrong with Scotland within the Union and a lot of promise for a better future out of it. If that makes me wrong headed in your eyes, I reckon I can live with that.

Adéu-siau

Dear Bill,

Hopefully, we won't be voting in the 2015 General Election.

Can someone get back to you in 2014 when the people will have spoken?

Thanks.
