Major Eric Joyce, apologist in Chief for Blair on Newsnight, highest claimant on the Allowances list, claims a rented £500 a month flat in Falkirk is his main home, and his London home is his second, despite the fact that his wife works in Kent as a Head teacher and his daughters attend school there...has finally been rumbled.

The Sunday Mail of all people have got him by his gineger short and curlies, painting him as a venal money grabbing, sleaze bucket. In doing so, they have managed to do what every Scottish paper knew to be the case, but singularly failed to do anything about.
The Mail on Sunday put it to him that since his wife and daughters lived at the family home in London, his wife worked as teacher in the South-East and his children have always gone to school in London, his London home must have been their main home, not their second home.
'I discussed it at great length with the Fees Office,' he said. 'There was always a possibility that we would move to Scotland.'
This sums up the Labour in Scotland for me.
"When first approached, Mr Joyce said he could not recall whether he or his wife owned the Croydon house. Nor could he recall whether he had paid capital gains tax on it."
He defended his decision not to pay capital gains tax, saying that from the point of view of the Inland Revenue, the Croydon house was genuinely his main home, not his second home.
The people of Falkirk deserve better than this poisonous dwarf, who is politics solely for the advance of his own bank balance.

Wow well done Monty. He's the one I've been longing would be brought to justice. I'm sure there are many in his last career who will also be delighted.
The Major, where do I start?
Bairns were of course bemused in 1999 when nulab deamed sitting MP Dennis Canavan "not good enough" to represent the town at Holyrood. But now of course we know what they meant, such is the calibre and quality of the Major, the man they chose as Labour's Westminster cadidate after Denis told them to F-off, stood as an indy and recorded the highest ever majority in a Scottish Parliament election to date. Just not good enough Denis.
But The Major - more than good enough. So good he became the Labour party's unofficial defence spokesman when even nulab Minsiters were too embararassed to go on TV and defend the laterst atrocity in Iraq. Dick Chaney could not have done better.
And remember, the Major was so well quailified to be a nulab MP, he brought a criminal conviction with him - for assuaulting a female teacher when he was 15. A legend the British army for being more barking than even the average Eton loon, he was of course the ideal man to speak for Falkirk. Just a pity he has never ever lived there - except for tax purposes.!
Serioulsy this is Labour. They knew who Joyce was, where he came from, but still endorsed him for this once safe seat, to represent some of the finest but poorest people in the UK. What he has done - misrepresent them, milk them, use them as a postal address for tax purposes, and now been caught red handed is entirely predicable. Not really the Major's fault - Labour's fault, they picked him
But there almost was worse than the major. Denis Goldie - don't even start me - the man labour selected as it Falkirk West Holyrood candidate in 2007, after even his own labour councillor collegues had sussed him as a crook, anf forced him out. Thankfully, Michael Maithison saved the Bairns for this fate - but it was a fate Jacko planned for them, even breaking Labour own selection rules to let his stand( They must be good pictures of you he has Jacko)
I know Labour is appauling pretty much everywhere these days. But its treatmet of Falkirk must surely be the absolute worst? For this alone I would happily shoot every last one of them - with the Major's colt revolver. But he can have first option on himself. And I'd smile, buy a round in my local pub for every bairn within shouting distance - for ever bairn in Iraq ths sad apology of a human being has de facto murdered, whilt milking us all dry

I've been in Falkirk a few times over the years, and got on well with the folk on the cultural side, particularly FTH. I was delighted when Big in Falkirk took off and the Falkirk Wheel is a beautiful piece or art and engineering. I doubt any of that success is down to Major Joyce.
There surely has to be a case of criminal prosecution here. At the very least I would hope that what remains of the good Labour members in Falkirk, summon their collective will, demand an EGM and deselect him as their Westminster MP.
